The Night

Dew on the grass covers the bottom of my soles as I make my way out into the night.
The ivory moon shining boldly in the sky along with the stars.
Small clouds of the day still linger around.
The Milky Way exposes itself throughout the night's sky.
It's all so close but yet, so far away.
But I feel as if I were to hold up my hand, my fingers would touch these magnificent things.
And it would be an intimate moment for the universe.
I hear the whistling sound through the trees as the night breeze makes its way through.
Cooling and refreshing all things along its path.
The world is asleep and all is quiet and calm.
I hear the sweet melody of the night, very tranquil and soothing.
I settle myself on an old tree stump, and listen to the night critters
And watch quietly as the fireflies illuminate the the world
I hum along to this as I am very familiar.
I hum and I hum until I finally see the sun begin to rise.
